What is a home energy audit and how much do they cost?

An energy audit is basically a check-up for your home. Certified auditors spend several hours at your home looking for areas where energy is being wasted. They then present you with a list of cost effective changes you can make. Typically home energy audits run between $400 and $600. But, Efficiency Kansas, a program through the Kansas Energy Office, is offering audits for $100 for a limited time. To find out more about the program, go to http://www.efficiencykansas.com/audit_program.php.
