Bishop

Ken and Barbara Millar Bishop celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on September 7. They were married in 1957 in LaGrange, IL having begun dating 61/ 2 years earlier in their junior year at Lyons Township High School in LaGrange. They lived in West Lafayette, IN while Ken completed his undergraduate degree and began his graduate work at Purdue, then lived in Anniston, AL where he served 6 months in the Army as partial ROTC fulfillment. Next they moved to Norman, OK followed by St. Louis, MO as he completed his Masters and Doctorate Degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma toward the end of which he was an Acting Assistant Professor at Washington University. In 1965 they moved to Lawrence, KS along with their new daughter (and future Jayhawk) Susie. Ken is an Emeritus Professor of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering retiring after 39 years at KU. They are GrampKen and GramBarb to four grandchildren: Kaitlin, Keegan, Logan and Liam McKinney, the children of Susie and Scott McKinney (all of Lawrence). Barbara says “These 60 years have been a privilege and our lives have been blessed.”
