I'll give you my (blood) when you take it from my cold, dead (body) ...

No one will want it then. I assume that will be after you bleed to death because there isn't enough of your blood type available for a transfusion.

Sadly, there's probably lots of people like anticommunist who feel that way in this town.

Always wanted to, just can't seem to weigh enough to donate (true downside for being short/petite).

Once. After waiting for 2 hours past my scheduled appointment I haven't been inspired to give again.

Yeah, it's a shame your inconvenience exceeded that of the person in the hospital needing a trransfusion.

I always did it every 8 weeks when there was a Community Blood Center in town. Now that it's closed, I can't drive to Topeka to do it. Sometimes there are blood drives in town that I'm able to go donate about once a year. Bring back the Lawrence CBC

Best I can remember, prior to sometime in the 70's when you gave blood, this blood was sorta placed into an account so if you or someone in your family needed it, it would be there either free or at a reduced rate. They changed it to where you give the blood and if you are a loved one needed it, they did not care they charged you for it just as they would anyone else. Thus, I give when I can, but don't make a special trip to do it.

now, I do not, because I cannot.
when I was much younger I donated a couple gallons, as I have a rare blood type, AB+
my blood would be unhealthy for recipients because of meds I am on.
