Yes, and I kid you not, I lost 20 lbs in 2 weeks from it! It was extremely difficult to wing myself off of caffeine, but after the first few weeks, it was pretty easy going forward...of course not without a temptation now and again.

?? Why would I do that?? Don't drink much coffee or tea, but have drank enough diet Dr Pepper to float an aircraft carrier. I'm sure the good doctor will get around to having me stop sooner or later, hell, he;s taken everything else away, but until then? Bottoms up!

No. I'm not giving up coffee nor diet coke but I don't consume enough of either for it to be too big of a deal.
Tried but the headaches were too intense. The weight loss perservering_gal speaks of could be a plus but then why give up legal perk-me-ups?
The last of my vices, not I'll not give up that one.
No, but Charlie Sheen gave up cocaine, so it shouldn't be too difficult!

Take caffeine pills for class sometimes and a preworkout powder (300-500mg) before I work out. Healthy in the long term? No, but that's why I cycle off of it every few months anyway. Headaches are normal but it's not that big of a deal.
Gave up my 4 liter a day habit one month ago...one day after my heart attack at age 48...
I have tried to give it up and I will never do that again. I Love, love, love, love, love,love coffee.
Tougher than licking nicotine or booze. I did it...but decided it was better to buzz than not.
Why would I do that? My coffee addiction keeps me from hurting people. These people know not to talk to me until they see me make a second pot. We use very big cups around here.
Not until it kills the first lab rat that is given "normal" doses.
Had to because of a health issue. The only caffeine I can't give up is in chocolate. Surprisingly easy to quit the coffee altogether and sodas with caffeine.
I was suprised to learn that the darker the roast, the less caffeine the coffee has, so I was getting less caffeine than I thought.
Giving up caffeine is easy. I've done it hundreds of times.
I'm too ugly without my morning jolt. Yes, I did try, but like someone else said, I couldn't get past the second morning of headaches.
Weight loss from giving up caffeine? That's hard to imagine, unless you were getting the caffeine in the form of sugared sodas.
I would like to give up the Diet Coke, though, it's got too much junk in it. Maybe I could drink lemon water with caffeine pills crushed up in it. :D
I know several women who gave it up "cold turkey" after finding out they were pregnant. Couple caffeine withdraw and the fatigue of first trimester... Anyone who can survive that is impressive.
Tried once. Thought the back of my head was going to explode. I have a couple cups in the a.m. , then tea from Sonic. Drink de-caf tea in the evening...No pop...diet or other wise. Just don't care for it anymore. NOW, isn't it about time to kick the Slavers ass. Come on 11 o'clock.
It's kind of hard to completely avoid caffeine. It's in chocolate, cocoa, some over the counter meds, and a lot of other places you wouldn't expect to find it. There is more caffeine in a can of Mt. Dew than in a can of Coca Cola.
No caffeine, except from chocolate, in about 7 years. A friend challenged me to see who could go longest without it. I had just gone off of my controller medicine for migraines due to side effects and was using caffeine to control pain. I quit imbibing caffeine and I quit getting migraines. I still got headaches but not full out migraines any more.
I gave up (the caffeine in) mountain dew.
I then quadrupled my coffee intake.
I gave up caffeine when I switched to Monster energy drinks.
Just curious, why did giving up caffeine help with weight loss? I get my caffeine mainly through black coffee - didn't think there were a ton of calories there. I'm not giving it up, even if it was the equivilant of drinking a dozen glazed doughnuts.
Back in the day, found myself dragging after a couple of days visiting my grandma. Took me about three days before I remembered that she drank Sanka. Don't know if they still even sell the stuff. Did find out quickly how much I relied on that kick in the morning.
Wish I had lost weight when I quit drinking coffee. Guess doing the donuts without the coffee is counterproductive, especially at the bakery counter.
What point? It's the least of my bad habits and certainly one of the most productive. Heck, I'm diligently looking for more vices like this one. Lungo expresso anyone?
I used to quit quite frequently. Then I gave up giving it up. Been happy and in a better mood ever since. I sit and drink and look out the window until my mind catches up with my body.
As for those of you drinking diet soft drinks---owww, step away from that nasty stuff. Fake sugar is not healthy. Better to eat real food than the fake stuff. At least that's what my (not completely exhaustive) research tells me.
