I tried, at one of the mobile collection centers. It felt like they drove a railroad spike clear through my elbow and I couldn't stick with it. I haven't tried since. My wife used to donate all the time until they banned folks who have lived in Europe.

Every 8 weeks, rain or shine. Then pray to God I never need it back.

I used to every 8 weeks also. Then they closed the center in Lawrence and keep trying to get me to drive to Topeka to do it. Now, I just do it during blood drives in town.

Used to do it about 2-3 times a year until they got so restrictive. Wanted a doctors note, got it. Then stopped because ever time I went in they wanted more documentation. So now my wife gives about 5-6 times a year because they like her blood more than mine.

I just drove to Overland Park to donate blood today.I then spent all my money at the hobby store nearby.

Did for years, then one time they told me it was tainted & I was out. No more orange juice & free coffee mugs for me. Listen up, vampires. You best leave ol' 52 alone lest you want the taint.

But I'll bet you'll be there with your greedy open arms when you need someone else's blood for a transfusion or to save your sorry life.
Glad not everyone is as uncaring and selfish as you are.

Donated several times but really got tired of incompetent people who seem to have trouble locating veins. Can't count the times when my entire forearm was black and blue. Now when I am asked I just tell them I need all my blood.

I donated for the first time today! The phlebotomist was skilled, no bruising, no muss, no fuss! The needle was giant, but a pleasant experience overall. I plan on donating regularly, unless I get the reject card for some reason unknown to me.
