Agree with Gnome--where's "other" on this poll?

I prefer exercise that's free (no expensive machines or gym membership), performed in privacy (no plate glass windows facing parking lots), and spontaneous. Fortunately, I have an exercise partner who is also into spontaneity.

I like to walk but I wish I had a treadmill. Getting up to drive to the gym in the winter is almost like torture! We also have a Wii Fit and it's an excellent way for children to get some exercise. Finally, a video game that is good for you!

For those that have absolutely no time to exercise and have a desk job, here is the perfect solution: The Hawaii Chair. Here is a review of it:

How come the list didn't include synchronized swimming?

Anybody can do it:

None of the above.

I dance.

I suppose Aerobics classes could be sort-of-kind-of be counted as dance, since music is involved, but it seems to me more like dance would be if you very carefully removed all the fun.

  1. I usually like fruit with my Yoga.

  2. they didn't list "other" as to include the great exercise of ... *posting on LJWorld's award-winning comment threads! great exercise that!

  3. other, to include finger wrestling.

  4. aerobics? I thought people engaged in that to find people to hookup with then? isn't that the real exercise?

Sex!!!!

"Having Sex Burns Calories: A lot of people already know this, or at least could assume it, but do they really know just how many calories it burns. Depending on many variables, having sex can burn about 5 or 6 calories per minute, which adds up to about 300 calories per hour. That's the equivalent of a brisk jog. To further put that in perspective, that's approximately 3 times as many calories per hour as you would burn standing or sitting." http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/288512/the_health_benefits_of_having_sex.html

I have a love/hate relationship with running. I hate doing it and love to stop doing it when I'm done. But my sister talked me into a half marathon in the spring. efffffing long.

I walk brisquely 3-4 miles a day. It's great exercise. I know little about it but I've always been intrigued by hot yoga.

Depends on what kind of walking a person does as to whether I'd classify it as exercise. I get sick and tired of hearing how people want to lose weight so they start working out by "walking" daily. A leisurely stroll through the neighborhoods is not gonna burn calories needed for substantial weight loss. You gotta work up a sweat! And don't knock yoga until you try it because it definitely works the muscles and breaks a sweat!

Yoga is clearly excercising. It also increases your flexability. Saying it is not excercise is just ignorance.

My favorite is lifting weights. My favorite lift is lifting for strength or heavy day on the bench press.
