True that. I (try to) do yoga once a week to supplement my weight and cardio training.

Yoga doesn't work the muscles. It's stretching. It doesn't help the heart or build endurance. Hence, not exercise. I'm not saying it wouldn't compliment an actual exercise regimen, just that it's not a substitute for one. Walking is good exercise because it's so easy to fit into your daily routine (walk to the store instead of drive, park farther away, etc), and you can modify it (walking upstairs, uphill,etc) to burn more calories. Granted, it can't build upper body strength, but you can lose weight doing it. I lost about 20 pounds in a year or two right after high school because I didn't have a car and I would walk or ride my bike everywhere.

Any walking is good. What may be a leisurely stroll for some is a workout for others. The point is to be moving. Pushing it a bit helps, but you don't have to power walk to gain benefits.

I walk brisquely 3-4 miles a day. It's great exercise. I know little about it but I've always been intrigued by hot yoga.

but it causes over use of the elbow and could lead to a imbalance of muscle strength, as well as a deterioration of brain and liver functions.

  4. aerobics? I thought people engaged in that to find people to hookup with then? isn't that the real exercise?

I dance.

I suppose Aerobics classes could be sort-of-kind-of be counted as dance, since music is involved, but it seems to me more like dance would be if you very carefully removed all the fun.

Agree with Gnome--where's "other" on this poll?

I prefer exercise that's free (no expensive machines or gym membership), performed in privacy (no plate glass windows facing parking lots), and spontaneous. Fortunately, I have an exercise partner who is also into spontaneity.
