Just went cold turkey one day. It's been over 20 years

I did the same thing the day I got out of army basic training in 1966. Haven't smoked since. BTW, I was paying only 25 cents for a pack of cigarettes on post.

Was it Mark Twain that said Quitting smoking was easy I've done it hundreds of times?

about 16 years ago i was working on my house and got a pain that knocked me off the ladder, my girlfriend (now my wife) came running out yelling what can i do? i gasped and said "get me, get me" and she said get what? and i finally got it out, "get me a cigarette". she kicked me and took me to the doctor and i quit smoking.

Quit in '96, seven years before I quit drinking.

I did the patch about seven years ago. I decided I could either smoke or eat foods I liked, but my health couldn't take both. It was an easy decision. Bacon > Marlboro. Sometimes I miss it. If I was told I'd die in a month, I'd certainly start again... but whatever.

Quit cold turkey twice within a year about 40 years ago. Best thing I ever did. Can't stand to be near the smoke/smell - hate it. And, yes, I can tell when you've gone outside for a smoke - don't try to fool me.

Quit in 1993 after 3 or 4 failed attempts. I've had one cigar since. It stunk.

with all of these people quitting, I feel like I will have to keep going forever to make up for the lack of tax revenue that you guys no longer fork over. shame on you quitters. winners never quit and quitters never win, well, quitters may live longer but I like to do my American duty and pay excessive taxes.
Smoke em if you got em!

Quit a 3 pak per day habit in '69. 35 cents per pak was too much!
