Anyone who cannot decide for theirselves who to vote for should not vote.

If anything, it impacts my view negatively. I think it's tacky when a celebrity endorses a candidate.

Absolutely no impact.

Yea, sure. But there's a lot of people would follow Oprah into Hell.

I wouldn't follow Oprah to the free food line.

Although I did momentarily consider Huckabee when Chuck Norris endorsed him...

I'm no fan of Oprah, but you have to admit that celebrities are a significant part of the MSM, and thus serve as gatekeepers for much of the public. If Oprah tells me that the way women are being treated in S. Africa is loathsome, I will listen. For many Americans, it is likely to be the first time they have heard such a thing. In this case, some women (Oprah's key demographic) will look at the election more closely than they would have otherwise. Is that a bad thing?
Gretchen, while you may not listen to Oprah, I suspect there are celebrities to whom you do listen. Brian Williams? Katie Couric? Dan Rather? Bill O'Reilly? John Stewart? Dennis Miller? Bono? Cher? John Mellencamp? Christiane Amanpour? George Will? Al Gore? Now, I will agree that I value some of these people's opinions more highly than others, but isn't it naive to believe that their voices have "no impact" on us?
I won't vote for Obama because some wack-job endorses him. But I will listen to her voice, and his, and many others, before making up my mind. No matter how ridiculous and self-serving the celebrity might be, s/he might point out something that had not otherwise occurred to me. And that may well influence my vote.

IIITeachYou ~ I didn't say I wouldn't listen to a celebrity, I said a celebrity's endorsement of a politician has no impact on me. However, I'm with labmonkey in that the endorsement of Huckabee by Chuck Norris made me sit up and take notice... but impacted me? No.
