It's about time!! Once we have a list of 'em all, it'll be easier to kick 'em out of town. Giddyup!! Vote Bush!! Klein 2008!!

Glad to register a "yes"vote on this one. How primitive and sad that this is not already an option for so many people who would benefit from it.
While they're at it, they should also cover hetero domestic partnerships. Not all people wish to marry, but they may still be committed partners and should enjoy the various benefits of that relationship.

Spiritual issues aside, has anyone considered the fact that each male in the partnership has a mother? They would not be on the planet if not for the bond between a man and a woman. How can unions of the same sex benefit the home and family? It only causes it to break down. We should not forget that the family is the foundation of our country's strength. If the family falters, so goes the nation. Starting a registry is only the first step toward opening the door to legalized gay marriage, purposefully slid into being through the court system or city administration rather than the ballot. It is neither wise nor good for the community, city, state or nation to head in this direction. If we do, we're
headed for a very troubled and weak future. No outside foe would have to raise a weapon to defeat us. We will have defeated ourselves already.

I don't understand why so many people are against the recognition of gay partnerships. Could somebody please tell me why you think the way you do, so I have a better understanding?

I don't believe this.

If God wanted gays on this earth he would have created his only son as one. Instead he has to forgive these sinful people for the things that they do. If people in Lawrence would recognize who supports the gays on the City Commission I would hope that they would not vote for them this coming April. Those three are also responsible for getting rid of our City Manager. They are also responsible for the increase in City taxes and property taxes. If you want to continue to support the gays and pay higher taxes keep these IDIOTS in Office.

Not unless bestial relationships and mere I-am_caring-for-my-next-of-kin relationships are to be recognized as well. thus one could get both vet bills and the nephew's orthodontst bills paid by the city.
