Patty Larkin is known for being on the front edge of folk music. Whether it's inventing new instruments or adding electronic loops into her songs, she's willing to blend styles and experiment. For her latest album, "Watch the Sky," Larkin went on a truly solo writing and recording experience, choosing not to bounce her ideas off anyone before moving forward with the album. She talks about that experience in today's Pulse Podcast. Larkin plays in the West Side Folk series at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Unity Church of Lawrence.
