Irene Bedard is best known as an American Indian actress, having starred in "Smoke Signals" and provided the title character's voice in Disney's "Pocahontas."
But now she and her husband, Deni Wilson, decided to spend more time together, and they decided to start their own band.
The couple will perform at 7:30 Saturday night at the Lied Center.
In this week's Pulse Podcast, Bedard talks about the band, Leonard Peltier and the way American Indians are portrayed in movies. And, as always, we give you a rundown of other events going on in Lawrence this weekend in our weekly Best Bets feature.
