Temperatures remain below average with clouds lingering for the first half of the day. There is a slight chance of light rain showers early in the day with that chance diminishing as the clouds erode this afternoon. The wind will remain out of the north between 5-10 mph.
KU staff criminal checks: By September, new employees at Kansas University and the five other state universities will be subject to criminal background checks before they are hired.
Potter Lake under microscope: On Wednesday, the Kansas Biological Survey performed sediment and water quality sampling of Potter Lake on campus.
Wilco concert: The city's first efforts in a major downtown concert proved successful Wednesday night drawing a crowd of 2,000 to 3,000 people.
KU Barnstormers: Little more than a month removed from a national championship victory, KU's seniors went out as winners one final time, defeating the preps, 100-91, in a running-clock game that contained all the hijinks of a Harlem Globetrotters affair with just as little defense.
