Winter returns today with a vengeance! After a record high Thursday, temperatures will continue to fall today with north winds and Arctic air arriving. Temperatures will drop into the mid-20s by late afternoon with the chance for some freezing drizzle. A glazing will be possible. Any light drizzle could last into the night, when we drop to 20 for a low. In news: Kansas University scientists say federal funding for embryonic stem cell research would give them a boost; the public can give its input on the new Heritage Area; bands around the country will get a chance to play at the Wakarusa Music and Camping Festival this year; and, the Kansas City Chiefs prepare for the off-season.
