A dreary Friday is in the forecast. Drizzle, fog and cloud cover will continue for the first part of the day before a glimpse of sunshine is possible in the afternoon. We will hit 44 degrees for a high with northwest winds at 5 to 12 mph. Tonight the clouds will continue to break as we drop off to a cold 29.

Sebelius says Sunflower Electric Power Corp. will likely be able to build its three new coal-fired plants near Holcomb; and, Nathan Padilla hits a late free throw to give Lawrence High a victory in the City Showdown.
