A historic church in Lawrence is hoping for some last minute fundraising help.
Twenty-nine area students battled it out this weekend for the Douglas County spelling bee title. Authorities say a tip that an escaped inmate bought a truck helped them capture John Manard and the woman who's accused of helping him. A Eudora family is dealing with the aftermath of the West Nile virus. If every student paid a hundred dollars less in fees that would mean KU's student senate would be out more than $3 million a year.
In just three weeks 13 KU students will travel to our Sister City, El Papaturro, El Salvador for the second annual alternative spring break trip. The Jayhawks took a Texas sized beating last night against the longhorns. It seemed like a complete role reversal since last season. Saturday in Wichita Lawrence High wrestler Nolan Kellerman capped off a perfect ending to a perfect couple of years by winning his second straight state championship. The Lady Jayhawks got revenge against Mizzou Saturday with an 81-71 win in overtime. It is never too early to look toward the future for KU. Earlier this weekend it was announced KU commit Sheron Collins will play in the McDonald's All-American game in March.
