A week after a shooting in downtown Lawrence local leaders and downtown business owners are in the process of making some serious changes. It has been almost six months since hurricane Katrina devistaed the gulf coast. Now a KU student group is helping kids affected by the disaster, remember to keep being kids.
Widlely recognized Journalist and Author Eleanor Clift spoke this evening in front of a packed crowd at the Dole Institute of Politics. At the beginning of the season many fans were shocked to see that the KU men's basketball team was no where near the top 25. With a 13-point win over Iowa State yesterday the Jayhawks have now won seven straight and are a safe bet to be ranked come Monday. The KU women's basketball team had a another chance to get their first road win of the season Satruday in the boader showdown against Missouri. The Jayhawks led for about 75 percent of the game, but once again the ladies found a way to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory with a 64-57 loss. The NFL season may be over, but the arena season is just getting started. The Kansas City Brigade played its first home game Sunday aginst the Austin Ranglers. Austin goes on it to win, 37-33 causing Kansas City to fall to 0-3. The Brigade's will host Columbus next week in Kemper Arena.
