Lawrence Memorial Hospital's Emergency department is small, cramped and getting more patients every year. Sweeping changes to the school day could be in the works for Lawrence Public School students. An early morning brawl inside a downtown Lawrence nightclub sends at least four people to the hospital and at least three other to jail. Local children became official world heroes Sunday afternoon after receiving their passports to a day of fun and games. Lawrence marked it sixth annual Earth Day parade and fair this weekend. Last Friday night in Lawrence, the KU baseball team got some clutch hits last to beat K-State, 8-5. On the KU campus Sunday afternoon, the Jayhawks softball team took on number two Texas. Saturday a crowd of over 26,000 packed into Memorial Stadium to watch the final day of the Kansas Relays.
