Thirty-two AmeriCorps members from five different programs participated inthe Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. service event planned by the United Wayof Douglas County and the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence on Sunday. Over 100 community volunteers made 361 bags of trail mix, 168 personal need kits, 166 child abuse awareness bracelets, 110 valentines for home-bound seniors and 44 fleece scarves, all to bedonated to local nonprofits.
