James McKenzie on high wheel bicycle

James McKenzie, a retired Lawrence fireman, collects and restores high wheel bicycles, which were popular in America and England in the 1800s. They will be on display Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the Community Bike Ride hosted by the Lawrence Central Rotary Club. The event begins at 8 a.m. at the Rotary Arboretum at Clinton Lake, 5100 W. 27th St. There will be free t-shirts, helmets, snacks and three routes to choose from: a one-mile, three-mile or 10-mile.
