A vehicle turns off of Arkansas Street and into the main entrance at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. A 2011 study revealed that LMH does have a parking shortage for patients and visitors during peak times of use. The study recommended adding parallel parking along Arkansas Street between Third and Fourth streets as one way to add about 30 parking spaces. LMH agreed with the recommendation and work is set to begin in July.
