Refrigerator Door for July 2011
Historic visit: Seven Lawrence High School students participated in the National History Day competition from June 12 to 16 at the University of Maryland — College Park. In addition to competing, the students were also able to visit museums and sites in Washington, D.C. Back row, from left, are Nick Cohen, Alyssa Crider, Jim Kittel and Maria Watson; front row, Kelly Song, YuKyung Lee and Lauren Fleming. Watson made the finals with her senior individual website on the Berlin Airlift, eventually placing 12th overall. A future Lawrence Lion, Sadie Keller, Central Junior High School, also made finals with her junior individual performance, “The Terri Schiavo Case: The Right to Die Debate and Its Consequences.” Other National History Day participants from CJHS were: Josie Naron and Ayesha Vishnani.
