Kansas football coaches throughout the years

The Jayhawks have been on the gridiron since 1890. Here are a few of the men who have led the team.

Better known for his success on the basketball court, Phog Allen coached the KU football team from in 1920, going 5-2-1. He's seen here giving his final instructions to his team before playing -- and winning -- the 1952 NCAA men's basketball championship game in Seattle. KU defeated St. John's, 80-63, for the title.
