Cub Pack 3064, chartered to the Eudora United Methodist Church, held its Pinewood Derby Jan. 29 at the church. Cubs who received awards for their car designs were Logan Labelle, Garrett Shoemaker and Nate Criqui. Warren Corman, Lawrence, left, recently retired his position as Kansas University architect. Here, he visits with presidential historian Richard Norton Smith on Jan. 30 at the Dole Institute. As the first permanent director of the Dole Institute of Politics, Smith worked closely with Corman during the design and construction of today’s Dole Institute facility, which was dedicated in 2003.
