Refrigerator Door for April 2011
Flight school: Fifth-graders at Prairie Park School are pictured April 5 with “adopted” Southwest Airlines pilot Ken Oliver of Lawrence in Michele Haider-Markel’s classroom. Fifth-graders at Prairie Park and New York schools tracked their class mascot as he traveled with a pilot for a month. The class received daily emails about their mascot’s travels and learned about geography, meteorology and aerodynamics. The month was capped off with a paper airplane contest. Oliver submitted the photo.
