Refrigerator Door for April 2011

Prairie patrol: Kansas University Environs student volunteers relax April 2 after cutting down hundreds of small exotic trees known as Tree of Heaven which had been growing too near the KU Field Station’s Rockefeller Prairie. Tree of Heaven was introduced into Kansas from China in the 1800s and does harm to native plant communities. From left, are Kelly Miller, Julia Nehring, Emma Donachie, Sara Schenk, Lauren Service, Vaughn Salisbury (KUFS staff forester) and Rion Glynn. Scott Campbell submitted the photo.
