Every month, JobLink, a division of Cottonwood Inc., recognizes an employee of the month for their community employment. Tony Parker has been chosen as the September Employee of the Month and has been working at Alvamar Country Club since spring 2009. The Lawrence Children’s Choir sang Irving Berlin’s “Blue Skies” in front of the “Blue Skies” sculpture June 6 in Newton. The LCC was on a Kansas concert tour and they lodged at Bethel College in North Newton. Earlier that day they sang in the Hesston Mennonite Church. Jerry Jost submitted the photo.
