Robert Schehrer, Lawrence, was selected the winner in the America’s Farmers Grow Communities, which gives farmers the opportunity to win $2,500 for their favorite local nonprofit organizations. Schehrer has designated Just Food, a food pantry in Lawrence, to receive the award on behalf of Douglas County. The $2,500 donation, available through Monsanto Fund, was awarded at a Sept. 29 ceremony at the Just Food warehouse facility.
