This photograph postcard from the early 1900's was a new way of combining home photographs and short text for long distance correspondence at the turn of the last century.
Postcard reads "Will write for a few lines in a short time now. Just this to show you how I am looking and that we are all well. Snow all gone in the valley and buttercups in blossom. .W.A.D."
Postcard reads "The house wasn't quite finished when this was taken and the yard wasn't cleaned up. It looks better now. It is all painted white and it must have been the way the light struck it that makes it look like one part is darker than the other."
1920 Photo postcard. Postcard reads "This is the whale I saw at Port Arthur in March. I have put the measurements on it as given by the state biologist from the T.S.U. at Austin. Letter tonight. C.H.R."
