As the recipient of the September 2010 Star Award, Central Junior High School eighth-grader Tommy Finch got to meet KU football coach Turner Gill on Oct. 14. Tommy was nominated by the eighth-grade teachers at the school.

Lawrence High School students and Free State High School volleyball players cheered together for the LHS volleyball team at sub-state on Oct. 23. The Free State volleyball players came back to support their friends after being eliminated from sub-state earlier in the day.
