Refrigerator Door, June 15, 2010
Douglas County Sheriff’s Cpl. Clark Rials and Deputy Dale Flory were honored with the Silver Award by the Kansas Association of Chiefs of Police on May 21 in Hutchinson. Rials and Flory received the award for their efforts in rescuing a 14-year-old boy who was trapped by rushing water after falling off the Bowersock Dam on June 5, 2009. Recipients of the Silver Award are chosen for extraordinary action that contributes to the significant prolonging or actual saving of a life.
