A sinkhole covers a street intersection Wednesday in downtown Guatemala City. Authorities blamed heavy rains caused by tropical storm Agatha as the cause of the crater that swallowed a three-story building but now say they will be conducting further studies to determine the cause. In April 2007, another giant sinkhole in the same area killed 3 people.
Although the beach at Pensacola, Fla., is now pristine, oil from BP’s Deepwater Horizon disaster in the Gulf of Mexico may come ashore on the Florida panhandle in the next few days.
