Mount Kilimanjaro towers over a nearby village in Tanzania. Kilimanjaro stands 19,341 feet high and is the highest free-standing mountain in the world.

Shawnee Dispatch Sports Editor Chris Wristen stands near the sign marking the Uhuru Peak summit, the highest point in Africa, on June 11. Wristen recently climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, which stands 19,341 feet high and is the highest free-standing mountain in the world.
