Osto Louise, a black Labrador, belongs to Ron and Debbie Miller, of Lawrence. Osto was left tied to a tree in front of the Parkville, Mo., humane shelter with several puppies on a summer day, then went to the Parkville PetCo for adoption when the Millers met her. Nervous and distrusting at first, she has developed into a loving and compassionate companion who likes children and other pets.
