Friends and Neighbors, February 2010

Three men who portray John Brown visit in Lake Placid, N.Y., during activities commemorating the 150th anniversary of the burial of the abolitionist on his farm in nearby North Elba. From left are Kerry Altenbernd, Lawrence; Norman Thomas Marshall, New York City; and Greg Artzner, Middleburgh, N.Y. Altenbernd is also the Douglas County law librarian and is active in preserving the Black Jack Battlefield east of Baldwin City, a John Brown historic site. He submitted the picture.
