Women Philanthropists for Kansas University met Sept. 24 at the Adams Alumni Center for their fall meeting. Weisman, author of “Raising Charitable Children,” was the guest speaker at the luncheon.
The Welcome Club of Lawrence donated a tree for the Festival of Trees auction this year. Co-chairwomen of the committee Trudy Urbanski, left, and Mary Ellen Fagan built the tree with the help of other club members. The tree, won by Stephens Real Estate and on display at its office at 2701 W. Sixth St., will be donated to a local family in need of a tree.
