As the KTA prepared for Sunday's blasting of the old Kansas Turnpike bridge over the Kansas River, reporters and photographers were busy on Friday finding the right spot to cover the event from. LJWorld.com will have live streaming video from Burcham Park and will later post video from a remote camera locked down on the top of this footing for the new bridge.

Sections of the old bridge spanning the Kansas River are in the final stages of getting ready for demolition. Toby Newschwanger with Chicago Explosive Services was using a cutting torch Saturday to prep a section of the bridge that will come down Thursday.
