Lawrence’s Nature Education for Kids contest May 18, 2009

Ten-year-old Alexis Derritt's illustration about people uniting to plant seeds won first place in an illustration contest sponsored by Lawrence’s Nature Education for Kids task force. Its motto is “Outside for a Better Inside.” Derritt is fifth-grader at Deerfield School. The illustration contest was open to students in kindergarten through fifth grades.
Kai Blosser, 11, submitted this entry of the moon setting through the trees. She is a fifth-grader at New York School.
Ten-year-old Cole Hickock won third place in the illustration contest sponsored by Lawrence’s Nature Education for Kids task force. He is a fifth-grader at Deerfield School.
Maria Hansen, 8, placed second in the contest with her illustration titled “Baby Face.” Hansen is a second-grader at Quail Run School.
Elijah Jost, a fourth-grader at Woodlawn School, says this illustration communicates his feelings about an autumn tree at dusk. “I love to look at fall leaves,” he says.
Second-grader Quincy Grove, 8, simply titled his illustration “Nature.” He attends Quail Run School.
