Fire Rescue personnel unload a survivor from a U.S. Coast Guard vessel Wednesday from a dock in Phil Foster Park in Riviera Beach, Fla. At least nine people are dead after an overloaded boat apparently carrying Haitian migrants sank off the Florida coast, the Coast Guard said Wednesday. Coast Guard Capt. James Fitton said 16 people had been rescued. The search was expected to last overnight, and although the Coast Guard hadn’t figured out exactly how many people were aboard or how many might still be lost at sea, it appeared certain that it fit the profile of migrant smuggling.
