Natural gas study

The Kansas Geological Survey, with industry partners, put together the Hugoton Asset Management Project, which models an area that includes the Hugoton gas field.

These cross sections depict two of the main producing intervals, spanning much of Chase County and Council Grove. They are “flattened” at the top to show how they thicken to east. Colors represent different types of rock: blue and green represents limestone; orange is siltstone; and yellow is sandstone.
