Behind the Lens - Photographer Not Camera

It is the photographer, not the camera, that makes a photograph interesting. Using a portable point-and-shoot camera a photographer can still incorporate a variety of visual techniques to enhance their images.

Using the visual technique of dominant foreground/contributing background I used my pocket point-and-shoot digital camera to snap this photo of Willa Cather's home in Red Cloud, Nebraska. The white fence in the foreground adds a nice visual pattern to the image.
