Behind the Lens - Photographer Not Camera

It is the photographer, not the camera, that makes a photograph interesting. Using a portable point-and-shoot camera a photographer can still incorporate a variety of visual techniques to enhance their images.

Using the foreground rock walls to frame my subject I created a symmetrical image in an unusual environment. The light hitting the woman in the opening added nice contrast to the darker surfaces of the cliffs. I used a small portable digital camera for this South Dakota vacation shot.
