Veteran tie-dyer bring peace to Wak Fest

Dean "Space Cowboy" Uftring, 54, sell tie-dye clothing and clothes at festivals across the country. In 1985 he made shirts for the Grateful Dead to wear while they were on tour.

Dean Uftring, 54, Lathrop, Mo., sells tie-dye shirts at Wakarusa Festival Saturday. He learned to tie-dye in the 70s on hippie compounds in Tennessee, he said.
