Kansas Relays, Day Four

Don Cooper, right, comforts his grandson, Kansas University sophomore Kirk Cooper, after he placed out of the pole vault. Don Cooper was the first collegiate athlete to break 15 feet in the pole vault. He did so at the 1951 Kansas Relays, while competing with Nebraska.
