Murphy Hall
Thomas Gorton, right, is pictured with his assistant. Gorton came to Kansas University in 1950 as the dean of the School of Fine Arts, a position he held until his retirement in 1975. While at KU, Gorton participated in the planning of Murphy Hall and, during his tenure there, the School of Fine Arts doubled in size.
