Emily Russell, 74, Lawrence, also known as "Ukulele Lady," plays her ukulele and sings "Ain't She Sweet" with residents in the assisted living wing at Presbyterian Manor, 1429 Kasold Drive. Russell volunteers each Thursday at the center as well as at other senior residences as part of a community outreach program through the Americana Music Academy, where she is an instructor. Russell grew up in Hawaii and moved to Lawrence in the 1960s.
