Lawrence resident and cancer patient Susan Mozykowski swims laps at Therapy Works, 1112 W. 6th St. During her chemotherapy treatments, Susan would lift weights, swim laps frequently at the pool and take frequent walks with her husband, Richard, to keep up her strength.

The KU football team's dramatic success in 2007 has been named the top local story of 2007 by the Journal-World and 6News staff.
