Douglas County fairgoers wait in line for carnival rides as the Zondar rises into the night sky. The fair continues today and Sunday at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds, 19th and Harper streets.

Camden Eary, 11, peeks out of a tank on display at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. The U.S. Army 137th Infantry Division allowed people to climb inside the tank to get a look around.
The Poultry Barn at the Douglas County Fair is stacked wall to wall with cages containing ducks, chickens and other fowl.
Jet the quarter horse gets plenty of attention as Tami Parris straps her son, Hunter, 2, into the saddle and 8-year-old Nate Owens pets the horse before the Jackpot Barrel Race, one of the kickoff events of the 2007 Douglas County Fair.
