Mitsuko Kawabata and John Conard attend a meeting of the Jayhawk Rotary Club. Kawabata is a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar from Nara, Japan, and is working on a doctorate in music at Kansas University. Conard is chairman of the club's International Service Committee. The meeting was Jan. 25.
Nikki King, executive director of Health Care Access, receives the Paul Harris Fellow medallion from Don Duncan, president of the Jayhawk Rotary Club. King received the award on Feb. 8 honoring her leadership in many community activities, including the Community Health Improvement Project and the Access to Health Care Task Force.
Knights of Columbus Council 1372 collected and donated 8,200 box tops to St. John Catholic School. The school will receive $820 through General Mills' Box Tops for Education program.
