Success continued to be a staple for the Chieftains under the watchful eye of their fifth-year coach, who guided them to a 23-3 mark and their second fourth-place finish at the Class 4A state tournament in three seasons. Tonganoxie improved to 103-25 during his tenure.

Pistora, the reigning All-Area Player of the Year, again proved herself to be the most complete player in the area in 2007, averaging 12.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.9 steals and 2.8 assists while helping the Chieftains to a fourth-place finish at the Class 4A state tournament in Salina.

Baska bounced back from a season-ending knee injury as a sophomore to help the Chieftains to a fourth-place finish at the Class 4A state tournament in Salina. The versatile performer averaged 9.9 points, 4.2 re-bounds, 2.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
De Soto ¢ 5-11 ¢ Forward ¢ Sr.
Goleman - last year's Class 4A champion in the high jump - proved she could be a force on the hardwood for the Wildcats this winter as a two-way presence in the paint, averaging nearly a double-double for the season with 13.7 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.
Santa Fe Trail ¢ 5-10 ¢ Forward ¢ Sr.
Pryor emerged as the area's dominant force on the low blocks, leading not only the Chargers but the area in scoring at 17.5 points per game. She also pulled down 10.9 rebounds per outing while helping Santa Fe Trail to a 14-8 record and a spot in the Class 4A sub-state semifinals.
Baldwin ¢ 5-7 ¢ Guard ¢ Sr.
Verhaeghe established herself as the most potent backcourt scorer in the area, averaging 16.4 points per game as the Bulldogs advanced to the Class 4A sub-state semifinals. She drilled 73 three-pointers on the season - shooting 41 percent from beyond the arc.
