Kenden Christenson,17, shows off his "Roll Forever" tattoo. "I got the tattoo about a month ago because skating is a big part of my life," Christenson said.

Skateboarders line the fence at the park, attentively watching the competition. The event's sponsors included the Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department, the Douglas County Safe Kids Coalition and White Chocolate, a skateboard store at 1005 Mass.
